the viewer is promised an open studio. i am locked in my studio with three cameras and two microphones recording all my actions. outside my studio, and accessible to viewers, is a bank of monitors and input devices designed to allow the user to communicate with me and observe my movements. the viewer is forced to consider my artwork and interact with me as a person only through electronic means.
the bank contains a total of six monitors, two speakers, and three input devices. (clockwise from top left) monitor one displays what I am seeing on my computer screen inside the studio. monitory two is an interactive 3d representation of the inside of the studio. this is controlled by a motion-sensing joystick. monitor three displays a generic desktop with internet connection. a keyboard and mouse are used to interact with me electronically through email, instant messaging, web forums, etc. monitor four displays a live camera feed of my face in right profile. monitor five displays the keyboard that i am using to type. monitor six displays my face in left profile.
